چکیده
Abstract A new crack identification method that estimates the cracks in invisible locations based on surface deformation measured by digital image correlation (DIC) is developed. An inverse problem setup to estimate such from deformations. The has an ill-condition because of noise contained Our proposed regularization uses prior information and Expectation a Posteriori (EAP) estimation. Prior includes candidate shapes deformations due cracks. are created determining crack's starting point propagating it force at its perimeter (ligament). distribution shapes. likelihood DIC method. posterior defined distributions. In this study, estimated result expected value distribution. validation test was performed, shows superior conventional L1-norm

Processing Digital Image for Measurement of Crack Dimensions in Concrete
The elements of the concrete structure are most frequently affected by cracking. Crack detection is essential to ensure safety and performance during its service life. Cracks do not have a regular shape, in order to achieve the exact dimensions of the crack; the general mathematical formulae are by no means applicable. The authors have proposed a new method which aims to measure the crack dimen...
متن کاملConcrete Crack Identification Using a UAV Incorporating Hybrid Image Processing
Crack assessment is an essential process in the maintenance of concrete structures. In general, concrete cracks are inspected by manual visual observation of the surface, which is intrinsically subjective as it depends on the experience of inspectors. Further, it is time-consuming, expensive, and often unsafe when inaccessible structural members are to be assessed. Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)...
متن کاملCrack Monitoring and Strain Measurement in Asphalt Mixture by Digital Image Correlation
A full field method for the description of in-plane strain fields is applied for improving Asphalt Mixture cracking behaviour insights. A Digital Image Correlation (DIC) system based on the Least Square Matching technique is used to compute strains and depict crack path in the process from microcrack initiation to failure. A Brazilian test was performed using hole-notched specimens. The test ge...
متن کاملExperimental Study of Dynamic Crack Growth in Unidirectional Graphite/Epoxy Composites using Digital Image Correlation Method and High-speed Photography
In this work, fracture behavior of multilayered unidirectional graphite/epoxy composite (T800/3900-2) materials is investigated. Rectangular coupons with a single-edged notch are studied under geometrically symmetric loading configurations and impact loading conditions. The notch orientation parallel to or at an angle to the fiber orientation is considered to produce mode-I or mixed-mode (mode-...
متن کاملPrediction of Crack Initiation Direction for Inclined Crack Under Biaxial Loading by Finite Element Method
This paper presents a simple method based on strain energy density criterion to study the crack initiation angle by finite element method under biaxial loading condition. The crack surface relative displacement method is used to eliminate the calculation of the stress intensity factors which are normally required. The analysis is performed using higher order four node quadrilateral element. The...
